		What inspired Munch to paint The Scream? In a note in his diary Munch described his inspiration for the image thus: "I was walking along a path with two friends - the sun was setting - suddenly the sky turned blood red - I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence - there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city - my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety - and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature". Sabrina Laurent (May 2005) deduced from Munch's description of his inspiration that the person in the foreground is the artist himself who "is not in fact screaming but simply reacting with horror to the scream of Nature. By placing his hands on his ears, Munch is desperately trying not to hear this scream that is putting him in some kind of panic attack

My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. When we are at our weakest, we are more receptive to the help and strength that God wants to give us. When everything is going our way, it is easy to become blind to our need for God and to overlook his presence in our lives. But as God works through our weaknesses, we learn to depend more on him and recognize and be grateful for the good work that only he can accomplish in us. Romans 8:26-28 The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. James 1:2-4 When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. Every time Satan attempts to conquer us, God takes that opportunity to grow and mature us. His Holy Spirit intercedes for us every step of the way, and though the journey may be painful, our destination will be worth it. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. During times of depression, God’s comfort reminds us of his love for us, and that love can inspire us to offer that same comfort to others. Those who have wrestled with depression themselves are often more empathetic and able to comfort others in similar circumstances.

		Unclutter Your Mind God is not a God of disorder but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33, NIV If you’ve ever watched a documentary on hoarders, you know that there are people who don’t throw anything away. They can live in such clutter and disorder that they can hardly move through their house. Too many of us are hoarders in our mind. We’re not letting anything go. There’s so much clutter that we can’t enjoy our life. We go to sleep at night but wake up tired. We slept, but we didn’t rest. Our mind was working. God has you reading this because He wants to do an intervention. He wants to help you get rid of the disorder—the worry, the hurts, the offense, the frustration. All that clutter is limiting your life. Worry will keep you from rising higher. Being bitter will keep you from new opportunities. Living stressed will cause health problems. Going around guilty will keep you from pursuing your dreams. You have to clear out the negative clutter and program your mind with what God says about you. He is a God of order. Live from a place of peace and rest and you’ll step into new levels. Prayer For Today "Father, thank You that You didn’t create me to live weighed down by the worry, hurts, guilt, and frustrations that creep in and limit my life. Help me to clear out all the clutter of negative thoughts from my mind and dwell on what You have to say about me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
