Once out of the oven, they’re generously topped with a creamy icing that melts into the warm rolls, adding an extra layer of sweetness. Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 large egg

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Icing:

  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:

    • Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar. Add melted butter, salt, and egg. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled in size.

  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a paste. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling, and roll it up tightly. Cut into 12 pieces.

  3. Bake:

    • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  4. Make the Icing:

    • Whisk together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
