Posted Thursday at 07:02 PM2 days The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.– Psalm 34:18Ever wonder what causes people to walk away from their faith? A friend once told me she stopped believing in Jesus because, duringher lowest point, “God wasn’t there when I needed Him most.” She feltabandoned, and slowly, her faith unraveled. But others, facing similar pain, run toward God and find Him to betheir comfort. What makes the difference? The difference is not in the pain itself, but in where we turn in thepain. If our faith is only built on feelings, disappointment willwreck us. But when our faith is anchored in the unchanging promises ofGod’s Word, we discover that He is near, even when we can’t sense Him. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18 that “the Lord is close to thebrokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” That’s not afeeling—it’s a fact. So let me ask you: where do you go when life falls apart? To despair? To distraction? Or to the living God who has already proven His loveat the cross? If you want to hold on to your faith in the trial, you must hold on toHis Word. He is there. He always has been. He always will be.Lina Abujamra
