Has anyone here had to cut off family before? What was your experience with it?

I haven’t talked to my brother is like over 2 years. We are on bad terms with each other but I’ve reached the point where I feel very emotionally disengaged from him and the situation. Like he never existed. I may get into the situation a bit later on.

Yes, I have cut ties with my sister because she was very toxic and emotionally abusive. I had to for my own sanity and ever since I have felt a whole lot better.

After giving my sister and niece chance after chance I recently decided I'm done. Done being treated like an option, never a priority. Done being disrespected. Done being discarded like trash. Done being treated like chopped liver. Done with the lack of accountability. They don't care why I'm mad or do they understand how their actions affect me. No more chances. I'm done.

Sabrina I have NO idea of your situation with your brother..all I will say is this…you are lucky to still have him. My brother is disabled… two strokes.. he has 24 hour live in carers. Recently I had a major health scare..I REALLY needed my brother and my dad… Dad is in a care home..vascular dementia and Parkinson's.. so I relied on my kids. IF it is at all possible.. make up… You never know whats round the corner..
