It can be exhausting trying to explain yourself to people who don’t understand your disability or mental health struggles especially when both are invisible.

Whether it’s being told to “just try harder” or people assuming you're fine because you "look okay," stigma can take a real emotional toll.

Have you faced judgment or dismissal because of your disability or mental health?
How do you protect your mental wellbeing when others don’t get it?

I am lucky..I can talk to my children.. When I had a nervous breakdown about a month ago..I told my daughter a LOT of stuff.. apparently these days that is called trauma dumping? Otherwise I try not keep on about it… I dont want to bring them down as well..

I despise it when anybody is judged for illnesses, disabilities, life style choices or anything else. If nobody is being harmed, no laws are being broken, what does it matter?

It is especially sickening when people openly mock members of the LGBTQ+ community, insult people for things they aren’t in control of, such as who they love, or being true to themselves.

Additionally, depression isn’t linear. I can smile and still be depressed. Shock, horror, sometimes… I even laugh!

Agree 100% as long as they are not harming anyone, who cares what they are?

I think sometimes that people think.. “oh here she goes again.. crying.. get over it” .. so I keep it to myself..
