I’ve been on antidepressants for a while now, and they’ve genuinely helped stabilise my mood and pull me out of some dark places.

But even though I’m doing better, I still feel ashamed to tell people I’m on medication. Friends say things like “just think positive” or “you don’t need pills to be happy”, and it makes me want to shut down.

I shouldn’t feel guilty for taking care of myself… but I do.

Do you talk openly about being on medication, or do you keep it private? How do you deal with the stigma or judgment from others, even if it’s subtle?
