The day I made the decision 12 years ago, start my own shop

The day I made the decision to start my own shop 12 years ago was a life changer. It was in January of 2013 I decided to think it over and did it right. I was working for my ex boss at the time and never burned bridges with him. Luckily it was the 3rd time I found the right one, across my house and talked to the widow of the original owner on buying it. The owner passed away and found out she was going to put it up for sale. Was a good price at the time. Luckily my wife was on for support, talked to her about it first and said go for it. Went to the bank for the loan and that went through including the final sale of it. The widow said every piece of equipment came with the sale. Then in February of 2013,had the talk with ex my boss and he took it well

Well was tough for him to lose his best mechanic at first. The last week of February, was my last week, borrowed a friend's flat bed trailer hauling my toolbox, tool cart and cart including other tools of mine to the new shop. It was a learning curve and customers I knew came to me making money. It was slow at first and then picked up hiring two guys. Those two I ended up firing, felt to come in when they wanted to. I have one guy and my 2 sons working for me now whom have been dependable. Paid the loan off 2 years ago and has been booming. My ex boss, we work together as allies. If they have an issue with a vehicle that they are having a tough time with, I help them out. They do the same with me
