Finally happy in my life, I finally came out as transgender 20 years ago. Knew since I was around 11 or 12 years old knowing I had feelings I was born the wrong gender and suppressed the feelings. Kept it in the closet for a long time and as a secret. Finally I had enough and it was after my 2nd son was born things changed with me. My family and wife saw it right away and convinced me to open up. Told them I am transgender and was 26 at the time. Good thing I had support from them. Diagnosed with gender dysphoria, decided to transition and it was the best thing that happened to me. Transitioned for 3 years deciding not to have the GRS. I had the FFS,trachea shave, liposuction and breast augmentation. My wife says she has her love of her life back and has adjusted to the changes knowing I am finally happy. My family, it was adjustments that went well. One was having a daughter and sister that replaced an unhappy son and brother. I have 2 younger brothers that look up to me showing them I am finally happy in my life. My sons whom are now 20 and 22, they call me Liz being told dad is now a woman when they were 11 and 13

Hi @LizMarie

This is amazing, I am glad that you're happy. I believe everyone should be who they want to be.

Hi @LizMarie

It's great to meet you, also great to meet a fellow trans woman. Times are tough at the moment, but I'm so glad you're happy and have been for some time. Very happy for you!! :)

Great stuff, Liz. It's good that you have a supportive family and now feel comfortable in yourself.

My good friends, they were shocked at first and knew I was in pain knowing me. Good thing they see I have my self esteem and confidence back to this day. Wife was a great help with helping me buying my new wardrobe. Luckily the clothing stores she shops at are transgender friendly. Work,it took time for a few of my co workers to come to terms with my transition. Luckily my boss worked with me on everything on that

I'm glad your wife was so supportive and helped you through! Also glad your friends stuck by you, that's...well, not so common, sadly. Same with your job, your boss sounds excellent working with you and helping you. I'm happy to hear things are good now and you're in a good, healthy, safe place :)

Now ex boss, I went on my own 12 years ago and I help him out when they are stumped on a problem. Does the same with me

Symbiotic relationship, very nice! Mutually beneficial for both businesses :)

I also remember my 27th birthday, a year into my transition. It was the best birthday, knowing the true self came out leaving the unhappy me behind for good. I still do things with my dad and brothers, deer hunt and they saw this did not change and is the same to this day. My 10th high school reunion, came to it with pride and my classmates knew I changed big time including teachers. One teacher I had, a math teacher was there and I thanked her for being an inspiration to me. Told me I had to face the fears with pride and did. Seen I was much happier as my true self and she seen the photobooks during my transition. We keep in touch still although she is retired now

My oldest son, he saw I inspired him to figure himself out. He realized 4 years ago that there was a female persona of him that has wanted out at times. A part time MTF crossdresser which he goes by Allie and we do go out with him dressed as Allie.

it's amazing that you have great support @LizMarie as long as you're happy that's the main thing.

It is and also support my oldest as well including my wife. Oldest went through the same thing I did and is now happy. We love and accept his female persona Allie as a part time daughter. Our youngest loves and accepts her as a great part time big sister.

This makes me smile, knowing you were able to have those moments with your dad and brothers, and your school mates and teachers...I kind of envy that, lol, because the reality for me has been quite the opposite. But just the same, I'm very, very happy for you and I love the strength and self-determination you have. You exude it and it's absolutely wonderful! :)

Excellent!! I'm glad he gets to embrace that part of himself, knowing that it's ok to explore, to have that side of yourself and not take it further than you want to go. Well done on embracing him as himself and as Allie, and good on your wife and youngest for doing so, as well. Just wonderful :)
