  1. One often. Sometimes I will come here and seldom another. It’s usually when I can’t sleep.
  2. This case is a complicated one. The abuse he endured growing up lead him to do what he did. It isn’t right but it’s hard to picture yourself in his position. He has spent decades in prison, including years away from his brother. You have cases like Gypsy Rose where although she did not directly murder her mum, had a key part and is now released. It does show that some people should get a second chance with the right help.
  3. Welcome! :)
  4. Rich. I can live a quiet life and get by.
  5. I would spend so much time just traditionally phoning people and texting them the old school way. I’m in that age group (1999) where we grew up with technology but it not being such a key part of our lives like how it is now. I would probably play video games still offline and try to read more. Buy DVDs.
  6. Partner is definitely a safe word to use but I also think that people will use it instead of saying ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’ if they are a bit older as they can feel that it a bit childish or bedside they’re not married. Especially if you look a certain way or haven’t had exposure to otherwise.
  7. No but my dad does from when he was younger.
  8. When I was younger yes. Love bombing is a thing and when the honeymoon phase dies out.
  9. Thank you. Honestly anything below 80 feels too young for me. I’m only 26 so many of my friends are starting to lose their grandparents now and it’s weird to witness because I lost my mum a few years ago. Like my lifetime and timeline is sooo different to theirs. It can feel isolating.
  10. That does sound challenging to navigate, especially as immediate family are often the support system. Being a carer or seeing someone you love decline isn’t easy emotionally and it takes a lot of strength to keep going sometimes. Even letting it out and acknowledging those feelings can feel so good.
  11. What challenges have you experienced in same-sex dating? I would say that for me, not being recognised as a couple. When doing house viewings even if I have specified beforehand, a lot of the time the estate agents will act like we are looking as two friends. It can be frustrating as you end up having to repeat yourself or constantly come out again and again. Another problem is, you mention you have a partner then people assume it’s the opposite sex. And again, forces you to come out. Whereas if they did not assume the gender then you would be more comfortable to open up about it. Also educating other people on how the relationship works. Someone asked me if we would adopt and I said, would you? Or… people assuming it’s okay to ask about your dating history.
  12. Oh my bad! Apologises. I like the anon feature and it’s looking smooth now.
  13. Older brother, older sister and younger brother
  14. Yes. For me, I see it as a healthy part of communication and it can bring you closer to one another. Some people don’t get it and that can be frustrating but thankfully this isn’t the case for me.
  15. I have quite a lot of in-person friends. Some I talk to often, some not at all. I definitely am grateful for the people around me. I don’t have too many online friends. Maybe like one? We talk most days and have been in contact for 5 ish years now. I have a few other ‘online’ friends but I wouldn’t say we have talked often enough in the last few years to consider it but some of them we can hit it off and have a cool catch up.
  16. My brother. There’s a lot of lore to it that I won’t get into here but I don’t regret the decision. I also think that not having me in his life is probably a benefit for him too so at least neither of us are chasing the other. Our siblings talk to us both though.
  17. What do you mean by the word ‘private’ in this context? Recognising that you need help and seeking it are big steps. You got this.
  18. Ooh wow. Didn’t expect this. Good luck to him. ;)
  19. I had one cabbage patch doll too. It was the completely bald boy with brown eyes. He was a bit tanned. I named him after my brother and I am pretty sure I still have him somewhere. I used to be obsessed with Barbie. Used to play with them for hours on end until I was like 11 years old. I had a few action men to be their boyfriends and children too. Lots of lesbians in my Barbie world. I also used my DS Lite a lot. Spend hours on Pokemon Pearl and Animal Crossing Wild World.
  20. Welcome Lisa. Great to meet you. :)
  21. I think that it needs to be somewhere in the middle. Some of the posts need to be public so that people can see what the forum may have to offer but it makes sense to have certain sub forums hidden from guests, especially when people are sharing very sensitive and personal matters.
  22. Going to Toby Carvery for a roast dinner to celebrate my brother’s birthday.
  23. A bit down but I am okay
