Air Fryer Crispy Prawn Toast Bites

Recipe  

A crowd-pleasing buffet dish cooked in the air fryer for a lighter finish.

Serves: 6 people | Prep time: 15 minutes | Cooking time: 16 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 x Slices seeded sliced loaf

  • 2 x 170g Packs frozen raw jumbo king prawns

  • 6g Fresh peeled ginger

  • 3 x Cloves garlic

  • 15ml Dark soy sauce

  • 1 x Large egg white

  • Salt and white pepper

  • 3 x Spring onions

  • Spray light oil

Method

  1. Defrost the prawns and drain and pat dry. Peel and finely chop the garlic and finely chop the ginger.

  2. Put the prawns, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and egg white in a food processor and season with some salt and pepper. Pulse until you have a thick paste.

  3. Wipe, trim and thinly slice the spring onions.

  4. Spray one side of the bread slices with the light oil, then turn over and spread the prawn paste on the other side of the slices.

  5. Sprinkle over the spring onion slices and cut into quarters before spraying the tops with some more light oil.

  6. Cook at 190°C for 8 mins – you will have to do this in batches – keep the cooked ones warm while you fry the rest.

  7. Serve alongside some sweet chilli dip and soy sauce.
